Festival Number 6

After my brother very kindly sorted out a surprise birthday present for me last year (the surprise being that he was dragging me to the Reading Festival, for which he already had a ticket, on the agreement that I would get my own), after a long time off, I actually rekindled a desire to get away to more festivals.

As such, when my good friend and Godfather to my son Jonny Lewis asked me if I fancied going to see New Order and others at Bestival I was very keen.  Sadly, it clashed with a stag-do that I was due to be on, so I had a quick search for other festivals that Peter Hook, Bernard Sumner and co were headlining and quickly came across Festival Number 6.

It really does *look* like it’s going to be spectacular… after all it’s set in an Italianate Village, cobbled together by genius/madman Clough Williams-Ellis.  A place where crenellated mansions sit next to Portofino inspired bricolage and 12th century castle remains.  But this is what I’m a little bit nervy about; does that describe the perfect festival venue for you?

Whatever, it’s going to be great:  I insist!

As well as New Order, we’re going to get to see Primal Scream, Gruff Rhys, Everything Everything perform as well as listening to sets from the likes of Erol Alkan and Jon Carter.  I’ve started pulling together a Spotify playlist for anyone who can’t be there.  I’d like to say it’s the next best thing, but let’s be honest, it doesn’t even come close!

Here’s the full list of performers too:
